INSIDE OUT HOUSE

SCOPE OF WORK  |  INTERIOR + LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

This project involved giving both an internal and external ‘face-lift’ to an existing under-whelming and underutlised 700sqm, free standing dwelling and, in the process, transforming it into a family oasis. Concepts stemmed from a single piece of art from the Client’s own collection. Its woven nature and circular shape informed architectural details, materiality and playful colour palettes. Major interventions included the creation of a new ‘parent’s retreat’ & associated balcony to the first floor. External works included reworking areas around the pool and giving some much needed attention to the entry sequence/ welcome mat to the residence.

" Blurring boundaries between the inside and out was essential. By creating a louvered facade, it provided the end user a myriad of experiences throughout a single day"
