Brief         To provide a serene and relaxing sun room experience whilst providing                          minimal yet effective interventions to enhance existing features and finishes                    in the living room.

Budget     8K

The client's existing sun room served more as a thoroughfare and somewhere to store storage overflow rather than a relaxing refuge to to the bustling interior.  Firstly, to better assist in screening the neighboring dwelling, we proposed a custom linen print to suspend at the back end of the room to provide impact upon arrival. The new terracotta and cream heritage tiles, which replaced the existing timber boards, were cleverly mimicked onto linen, to help make the room appear as if it went on and on and was our subtle nod to the interiors 'Alice in Wonderland' reference.  To provide a green experience, we engaged an artist to hand dye an 'ombre' pattern to the base of fresh white linen drops, framing the green views into the garden. Oversized palms were dotted throughout which were reflected in beautiful cane framed mirrors.  The clients wanted to retain the green wall paint in the living area, sofa and retro inspired TV unit. These features and items which were kept,  heavily influenced our choices on decorative busts and ceramics to adorn the existing fireplace as well as the bold landscape by Christopher Morris. These striking landscapes were paired with colorful paper mache masks to really showcase the client's eclectic aesthetic.
